Website owner proudly diplays his site through his vanity license plate

Pretty soon platenuts.com will be launching a section dedicated to businesses showcasing their company or business through their vanity license plate.  I have seen tons of them-attorneys, contractors, marial arts schools and even non-profit animal rescues!

Let me introduce you to Tony Z, owner of netmix.com, a website showcasing Tony’s 25 yrs in the DJ world and online radio mixes bringing in fans from around the world.  I found myself with  netmix.com playing the background as I finished my day listening to the sounds of the internationally famous DJ Dan.  Tony gave me permission to feature his site on here since he is a proud owner of a New York vanity license plate that simply reads “NETMIX“.  Here is Tony’s bio from his website but feel free to check his website out:

Tony Zeoli is an innovative digital media product development consultant who has been at the forefront of the convergence of music and technology since he founded Netmix.com in 1995. He has guided music, video and web application product development and strategy for a wide range of companies including Cablevision, the Associated Press and Entertainment Media Works.

With a celebrated DJ career spanning 25-years, today, music fans from around the world enjoy his DJ mixes through Netmix.com online radio and Netmix podcasts.

chappelle in phoenix?

nissan-altima-zpdduda.jpgWhen I saw this customized license plate, I couldn’t help but flashback to Dave Chappelle’s: “Killing Them Softly.” Mr. Chappelle’s stand up performance is timeless, and has to go down as one of the greatest nights for a comedian:  The pacing, his relaxed delivery, and timely callbacks firmly cemented Mr. Chappelle as one of the greats.  As I continued to gaze at the personalized license plate, The “Dave Chappelle walked away from $50 million dollars” neon signed flashed before my eyes.  Does he regret that move?  Looking back I thought of a misstep of my own:  I regret not picking a more hardcore job during my four year Army career.  Telling the ladies “I was an Personnel Information Systems Management Specialist,” cannot compete with “I blow ish up.”  What moment do you wish you could have back?

PUURR-fect

GMC ENVOY PUURRCertain vehicles make you look and others almost make you break your neck.  I was certainly a rubber-necker for obvious reasons on this on.  It wasn’t till I got behind this one that I had to pull along side this one again and flag her down.  By now I know some of you are thinking “Oh gosh…what an opening line.”  Fortunately, I didn’t have to pull out the whole “don’t I know you from some where?” or “I know you must be tired…blah, blah, blah”.  A simple “Do you mind pulling over so I can snap a picture of your license plate” and I wound up with a lot more than one could ask for.

Now somethings simply speak for themselves.  Of course, the animal friendly vanity licence plate opened the door to my question “I assume you love kittens?”  and as expected the response I received was “Of course I do.  As a matter of fact I have two.”  She went on to describe these two playful furry fellows but I must admit my mind wandered off several times though out the conversation.  Go figure right?  Wrong.  I couldn’t stop admiring the ring on her left hand which caught my eye just as I was en route from the dug out to the plate.  I thought I’d at least get a shot at striking out right.  Wrong…taken…too late…pump your brakes…EJECT!  Guess it wasn’t my time to see if I could get the kitten to purr.  How many times have you been there guys?  I could cite plenty of stories but I must say I’m glad I got a chance to hear about Puss ‘N Boots.

could your car become the next media vehicle?

cadillac_escalade_pepsico-2.jpgWho would have thought that customized license plates would be the advertising media of the future? This recent PEPSICO plate sighting raises some interesting thoughts. Isn’t it ironic that advertisers pay millions of dollars a year in media to reach their target market while some people willingly go around advertising products free of charge. Or is it free? Either this Cadillac Escalade driver made a boatload of money from Pepsi and wants to eternally thank them or they have completely sold out. Could advertisers be paying their consumers to get vanity plates of their choosing? This could signal the latest trend in Outdoor advertising budgets being shifted to find prospective “media vehicles”.

What would it take for you to advertise your favorite brand on your plate, and what brand would it be. I’m not a sellout, but everyone has their price. Ok maybe I am. I’m writing EXXON this very moment. Judging from EXXON’s latest profits, Im sure they have at least a couple grand that they could allocate to my plate space.
